Orbital power, beamed on demand

Orbital power stations generate electricity and beam it as microwave power to subscriber spacecraft, which receive and convert it locally. Because satellites no longer carry a full power system of their own, they can be built lighter and launched for less — power arrives in short, high-intensity pulses, smoothed into continuous supply by onboard storage.

Horizon Electro is built by Alex Laut, an RF engineer with a background spanning the full high-power millimeter-wave stack for fusion energy: commissioning high-power mmWave systems and gyrotrons at a national fusion research lab, designing and manufacturing high-power gyrotrons at a commercial gyrotron manufacturer, and designing microwave transmission lines at a private fusion energy company. Horizon Electro applies that same hardware — source and transmission alike — to orbital power delivery.
